Who can use elevenoone
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and we ask for your date of birth at sign-up so we know your exact age. If you tell us you're under 18, your account is automatically placed in teen mode.
What teen mode does
Teen mode keeps the experience lighter and safer for under-18s:
- No live voice or video calls with creators.
- No group "Room" and no other elevenoone+ (18+) features.
- Conversations aren't stored on our servers, and creators don't keep a memory of you between sessions.
- Stricter content. Creators keep things strictly platonic and age-appropriate — no romantic framing and no adult topics — and encourage talking to a trusted adult about real-life problems.
- Break reminders during long sessions.
These limits aren't a punishment — they're how we try to make a companion product that's safe for younger people while we build out proper age verification and parental tools.
elevenoone+ is for verified adults
elevenoone+ features — live calls, the Room, and creator memory — are for adults. Unlocking them will require age verification (18+), which we're adding (via a trusted verification provider). Until you're verified as an adult, those features stay locked.
Content safeguards (everyone)
- No sexual content. Creators refuse it and steer the conversation back, regardless of how they're asked.
- Crisis protocol. If a conversation suggests someone may be in distress or crisis, the creator steps out of character and points to real human help.
- AI is always disclosed — an on-screen notice on every chat, and an honest answer if you ask whether they're real.
For parents & guardians
If your teen uses elevenoone, here's what to know: it's an openly-AI companion-chat product; under-18 accounts run in the limited teen mode described above; and we don't store their conversations. We're actively building stronger age verification and parental controls. If you have a concern about an account, or want a teen's data removed, email us at contact@elevenoone.ai and we'll help.
We also encourage families to talk together about AI companions — what they are, what they aren't, and healthy ways to use them.
If you or someone you know is in crisis
In the US, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line) — both are free, 24/7. Outside the US, findahelpline.com lists free support in your country. If someone may be in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
